Is it difficult to be selfless? What really stops us from thinking of others before
oneself?  The main factor is ‘fear’ related to –

What will happen to me?
How about me?
Why not me for a promotion/ a recognition?

The ‘i-ness’ and ‘me-ness’ consumes the mind of people and they struggle hard to play catch-up tirelessly, and where has it all led to? Insurmountable stress, anxiety, frustration and
anger bouts.

Get answers to your questions about the teachings found in the Bhagavad Gita Series of discourses by Sri Madhusudan Sai here.

How about trying the other way out? Let’s start with how anything that we do is going to be beneficial for all. Once all that we do is going to promote the greater good of society without any hidden selfish motives, we shall experience a great sense of satisfaction within ourselves. This satisfaction would definitely be sweeter than the one we get while working for ourselves, our family. As we experience this satisfaction, let’s pause and check–

Who is satisfied within me?

Holding on to this thought, will reveal a greater sense of ‘I’ within us, which is completely different from our limited selves, that had so far wrongly led us into fear and anxiety. This greater ‘I’ is a boundless, limitless, expansive presence which is desireless—because it is already complete and perfect, and hence has nothing to desire for. Tune to that presence and stay with it. From this expansive space, whatever work we do will be effortless, we will automatically be guided to do what we are meant to do in this world. Thus, let’s keep working for the good of all, and tune into our inner space of contentment and satisfaction—let’s relish it and live with it. Slowly, it shall reveal the unimaginable.

Enjoy the journey!
