The essence of the festival was deeply rooted in the timeless wisdom of the Ashtavakra Gita, an extraordinary dialogue between Sage Ashtavakra and King Janaka. Unlike scriptures that stop at theoretical explanations, the Ashtavakra Gita guides the seeker step by step toward self-realisation and tests the assimilation of spiritual truth through lived experience.
Sage Ashtavakra instructs King Janaka that liberation does not come from performing or renouncing action but through recognising one’s true nature as pure, infinite consciousness. Janaka, the ideal disciple, exemplifies this understanding through his composed responses and serene acceptance.
