Sri Madhusudan Sai, recognised for his profound appreciation and unwavering patronage of various art forms, especially saṃgīta (music) and nṛtya (dance), was acknowledged for his significant contributions to the cultural landscape. His dedication to the arts is exemplified by the establishment of the Department of Music and Performing Arts at Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence in October 2020. This initiative aims to nurture and propagate the rich cultural and spiritual traditions of Indian music, ensuring the transmission of musical knowledge from masters to aspiring seekers.

Under Sri Madhusudan Sai’s guidance, the department has flourished, currently accommodating over 70 students pursuing their passion through various courses, including Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma programs in both Hindustani and Carnatic vocal music, as well as instrumental disciplines such as Mridangam, Tabla, Harmonium, and Flute.

Looking ahead, Sri Madhusudan Sai envisions the establishment of Nada Gurukulam at Sathya Sai Grama, a dedicated centre aimed at preserving and promoting Indian art forms encompassing music, dance, fine arts, and sculpture.

In 2021, an essential collaboration was forged with Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding. This partnership has facilitated knowledge exchange through training programs, joint performances, music festival celebrations, and more.
