Seeding the Future: Honouring Farmers and Nurturing the Nation at Sathya Sai Grama
On 13th June 2025, a special event titled “ Seeding the Future – Together with the Farmers” was organised for the farmers of the country. The event marked a significant moment for over 1,500 Ragi farmers affiliated with the Subhiksha Organic Farmers Multistate Cooperative Society. This annual event has deep agricultural and cultural importance. It serves as a testament to the farmer’s dedication to sustainable farming practices.
A Tradition of Commitment and Devotion
For the past two years, these farmers have followed a sacred tradition. They visit Sathya Sai Grama before planting seeds and offer Ragi seeds to the Divine Lotus Feet. This ritual symbolises their devotion, surrender and dedication to serving the nation through agriculture. It truly emphasises their deep-rooted connection to the land and spiritual affinity with nature.
Insights from Distinguished Speakers
The gathering offered enlightening presentations from esteemed dignitaries, including Ananda AA Shri and Mr. Fukuoka. Mr. Fukuoka from Agbiotech, Japan, introduced the Japanese philosophy of ‘Shindo Fuji’. He emphasised the inextricable link that exists between humans and the land. His insights highlighted the importance of balance and harmony in agricultural practices.
Other notable speakers included T.B. Jayachandra and Sri Sri Pardeshkendra Swami. They too praised the farmer’s persistent dedication and wished them success. Their speeches captivated the audience, emphasising the critical role of agriculture in national wealth.
Keynote Address: Honouring Farmers as the Backbone of the Nation
Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai delivered a moving speech, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the farmers for their invaluable contributions. He highlighted the significance of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’, recognising that while soldiers defend the borders, farmers maintain the nation daily through their hard work and resilience.
Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai urged all the attendees, especially the youth, to honour and always remember the sacrifices made by farmers. He emphasised the necessity of recognising and supporting their efforts, ensuring their essential role in society is acknowledged and celebrated
Launch of the ‘Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card’
One of the highlights of the event was the official launch of the ‘Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card’ for the farmers. Using this card, around 600 farmers will be provided free healthcare treatments at the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research. It is an important step towards ensuring the well-being of people who devote their lives to feeding the nation.

The gathering concluded with serene chants and collective prayers, creating a sense of hope and positivity for a prosperous Ragi cultivation season ahead.
