One Million Dollars Donation to Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Centre Enhances Maternal and Child Healthcare
Clarksdale, Mississippi – A divine step towards improving healthcare for mothers and infants in Mississippi was taken on 4 November 2024, as the Divine Will Foundation bestowed a $1 million donation upon Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Centre. The announcement was made during the Global Heart Network conference held at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, where representatives from both organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to sanctify this significant contribution.
The donation was formalised in an atmosphere of grace, with the presence of Sri Madhusudan Sai, the divine visionary and enlightened founder of the Divine Will Foundation, along with hospital leaders, including Chief Executive Officer Lorie Till, Chief Operating Officer Sylvester Thornton, and Board Advisor Jon Levingston. This benevolent gift will fund crucial equipment upgrades for the hospital’s labour and delivery services, leading to the renaming of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Mother and Child Centre – a sacred haven for nurturing life.
A Gift of Hope for Mississippi
Sri Madhusudan Sai, with divine wisdom and compassion, spoke about the donation: “We believe in the philosophy of ‘One World, One Family,’ and in a family, all of us must look after each other, especially its most vulnerable members. In the Mississippi Delta, the urgent need for proper maternal and child healthcare cannot be overstated. This centre is a ray of hope for the women and children of Mississippi. To assist Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Centre in helping more of our extended family in the surrounding communities is both our resolve and our sacred privilege. We are deeply grateful for this divine opportunity.”

This gift comes at a pivotal time for maternal and child health in the region, where many rural hospitals are struggling financially, forcing them to reduce or eliminate vital services. The new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit aims to address these gaps by providing holistic, compassionate care to newborns and mothers in northwest Mississippi. With these upgrades, the hospital will be equipped to handle high-risk pregnancies, premature births, and other complications that require specialised care.
