Inauguration of Sai Aarogya Hospital: A New Chapter in Accessible Healthcare for Rural India
On 13 December 2024, Sai Aarogya Hospital was inaugurated in Kajipalem Village, Bapatla District, Andhra Pradesh. This multi-specialty hospital reflects the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission’s commitment to service by offering high-quality healthcare, entirely free of charge, to underserved communities. It ensures that no one is denied essential care, upholding the values of selfless service and equitable healthcare.
The journey of this hospital began with a modest 20-bed facility, established by a group of NRIs under the name Aravinda Ashram. While the hospital served the local community with dedication, it faced significant challenges in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a decline in its services. In August 2023, the Ashram partnered with the Sri Sathya Sai Sujala Sravanthi Trust, founded in 2012 under the guidance of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This collaboration marked a turning point for healthcare in the region.
Under the direction of Sri Madhusudan Sai, the Sai Swasthya Wellness Centre was launched in October 2023, in partnership with the Ashram and the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. Over the course of a year, the wellness centre provided free, essential healthcare services to more than 18,000 patients, demonstrating the positive impact of accessible, community-driven healthcare. During the centre’s inauguration, Sri Madhusudan Sai unveiled the vision for a larger healthcare facility, which led to the establishment of Sai Aarogya Hospital in December 2024.

A dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including specialists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Practitioners, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry, is already serving the community, with plans for further expansion.
Sai Aarogya Hospitals are a transformative initiative addressing healthcare disparities in rural areas. Designed as 30-50 bed secondary care facilities, these hospitals will be strategically located in underserved regions to bridge the healthcare access gap. With the core principle of providing care free of charge, Sai Aarogya ensures that financial and geographical constraints do not prevent individuals from receiving essential medical services. The Bapatla hospital serves as a model for this vision, with plans to establish more such facilities across the country.
At the inauguration, Sri Madhusudan Sai shared the essence of selfless service and divine love. Reflecting on the journey of Sai Aarogya Hospital in Kajipalem, he recalled how the collective efforts of dedicated individuals turned the dream of accessible healthcare into a reality within just one year. He emphasised that devotion, love, and teamwork were the driving forces behind this achievement.
Sri Madhusudan Sai reminded the audience that love transcends all obstacles, and when service is rooted in love, it becomes a sacred act of compassion. He urged everyone to continue nurturing the mission and take responsibility for its growth. He beautifully encapsulated the spirit of seva (service), stating that serving humanity is akin to serving the Divine, and encouraged all to serve with unity, love, and compassion.
This heartfelt message inspired everyone present to view seva not merely as a duty, but as a divine expression of love — a love that ensures no one is left behind in the journey toward health, well-being, and dignity.
