His Story

The Early Years

Sri Madhusudan Sai, born as Madhusudan Naidu in a middle-class family to noble and devoted parents, Mrs Padmavati and Mr Maheswar in Bilaspur, a small town in the State of Chhattisgarh in Central India on July 26, 1979.

As a child, he was described as intelligent and devoted, growing up in a very spiritual family. And though his maternal grandfather and aunt were ardent followers of Sathya Sai Baba, it was not until he himself joined Baba’s education institution that he felt a deep and strong connect which he was unable to explain.

In 1996, at age 17, when a young Madhusudan Naidu started studying at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning at the behest of a friend, his journey had commenced.

Ever ready to learn and serve

An instrument of the Divine

Sri Madhusudan Sai was an exemplary alumnus of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning under Baba’s divine guidance.  He was the recipient of several accolades for his academic brilliance and extra curricular abilities.

On November 22, 1999, Sri Madhusudan received the gold medal from Baba for standing first in the University in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Honours). He decided to continue his post-graduation and completed a master’s degree in chemistry at Prasanthi Nilayam, after which he also pursued Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and received a gold medal.

Seeds of expansion

Spirituality and Service

From the year 2012, Sri Madhusudan Sai began working to expand his master’s work in the areas of education, healthcare, nutrition and social welfare programmes absolutely free of cost — both in India and across the world.

Under His guidance, three core mission streams were established; education, led by Sri B N Narasimha Murthy, healthcare, led by Sri C Sreenivas, and nutrition, led by Sri Ananda Kadali.

A global presence

Expanding the mission globally

From 2015 onwards, the expansion of spirituality and service projects across the globe began taking off in an unprecedented manner. Centres of Human Development were established in 12 countries — Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji, Australia, Sri Lanka, Italy, Turkey, United States of America, Argentina, Nigeria, Laos, and India.

Under Sri Madhusudan Sai’s leadership, the Sai Global Federation of Foundations (SGFF) was established — which is a non-religious, non denominational, non-political group promoting harmony by serving humanity, consisting of member trusts and foundations from approximately 30 countries worldwide. This was to bring together an international community of organisations which share the common goal of alleviating human suffering and creating new opportunities for those in need.

The ashram grows

Weekly public satsangs

The public began attending satsangs at Premdeep, Sathya Sai Grama in Muddenahalli. These satsangs then moved into the Sathya Sai Premamrutham Hall in 2015, to house the growing number of people who were beginning to come to the ashram.

These satsangs would be held every Thursday and Sunday, and during this time, even a glimpse, a word or a look seemed to bring solace to every parched heart.

During this time also, multiple schools and medical institutions began sprouting under the healthcare and education missions. The number of children being served nutritious breakfasts and meals also began increasing on almost a daily basis.

sanātana dharma

Spreading the seeds of wisdom

In 2020, as the world was grappling with the effects of the pandemic, Sri Madhusudan Sai focused on providing much needed guidance on the spiritual path to the public through a series of discourses on the ancient advaitic teachings of sanatāna dharma (including through series like Master the Mind, Kathopanishad and The Essence of Bhagavad Gita). All this was done, while continuing to expand the work in Education, Healthcare and Nutrition across more than 30 countries.

His discourses inspires everyone to look within, and seek answers for every problem through the vision of oneness.

advaitic wisdom

The vision of Oneness

Sri Madhusudan Sai believes that the world needs Self-realised individuals more than anything else. Self Realisation, to him, is not something that is not to be attained after death but rather, it is natural and totally possible to attain while a person is still very much alive, in the body. In addition, he believes that more than spreading teachings, it is more important for one to be an example through their very thoughts, words and actions.

Sri Madhusudan Sai has embarked on a global mission to teach the concept of oneness to humanity – the ultimate truth that the supreme Consciousness pervades the entire creation, animate and inanimate — sarvaṁ brahma, experienced through the individual, who is also, verily that same supreme Consciousness — aham brahma.

He passionately and emphatically encourages everyone, young and old, to constantly chant and contemplate on the mantra comprised of four words, “ahaṁ brahma, sarvaṁ brahma”, for the ultimate truth to ultimately reveal itself.
