Celebrating Mother India's 78th Independence Day
Mother India’s 78th anniversary of independence was celebrated with heartfelt patriotism on the grounds of the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium, Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli. The event commenced with Sri Madhusudan Sai unfurling the Indian flag with Chief Guest Dr. P. Raja Mohan Rao, founding member of the United Telecoms Limited Group. The national anthem was then rendered with great fervour, setting stage for an uplifting celebration. The students of the educational institutes proceeded to present a well-coordinated and harmonious march past, showcasing their discipline, unity and unwavering pride.
From Independence to Progress
Dr. P. Raja Mohan Rao, in his speech, reflected on the country’s journey since gaining independence in 1947, highlighting its remarkable progress despite challenges. He credited India’s achievements in science and technology to the determination and vision of pioneers like Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and the achievements in healthcare to the vision of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The speaker also shared his own struggles in trying to establish telecommunications in India, including being refused permission to buy supercomputers and instead building India’s own supercomputers with the help of S Peta and Dr. Batal. He emphasised the importance of investing in research and development, citing the government’s allocation of 1 lakh crores for this purpose. He concluded by urging students to work together towards a stronger, more prosperous, and self-reliant India.
Gratitude For A Better Tomorrow
Sri Madhusudan Sai reflected on the profound blessings of being born in India, a nation rich in history, culture, and spirituality. He paid tribute to three remarkable visionaries who have made significant contributions to India’s development: S. Visveswaraya, Narayan Bhat, and Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba who chose to stay in India and dedicate their lives to building the nation. He stressed the need for a synthesis of science and spirituality, highlighting the importance of spiritual values in shaping our lives. Sri Madhusudan Sai emphasised the importance of gratitude and responsibility, acknowledging the immense blessings we’ve received from our country, our spiritual leaders, and our ancestors. He urged young people to appreciate the blessings they have received and stressed on the importance of giving back to the country. By doing so, it can be ensured that India continues to thrive and flourish as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come.
