Echoes of Socrates and Sanskrit

Sri Madhusudan's Powerful Discourse in Athens

Athens, Greece, March 13, 2024:

On a special evening in Athens, Greece, the spirits of philosophy, music, and human welfare came together under one roof. A dynamic musical offering by accomplished Greek artists set the tone, followed by a heart-warming video showcasing the noble efforts of the Μοιράζομαι – Sharing with Others Foundation.

Sri Madhusudan Sai then took the stage to deliver an insightful discourse on the enduring wisdom of Greek and Indian cultures. Drawing parallels between the teachings of ancient Greek philosophers like Socrates and the Indian philosophy of “vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam” (One World, One Family), he eloquently emphasised our shared human identity that transcends borders.

Sri Madhusudan Sai applauded the selfless service rendered by the foundation to refugees, underprivileged children, the elderly, and all those in need – not out of mere obligation, but with genuine love, as one would care for their own family. He reminded the audience that true justice means ensuring that every human being has access to basic rights and dignities, leaving no one behind.

Sharing insights from the Ishavasyopanishad, the global humanitarian drove home the message that anything we possess in excess of our needs truly belongs to those whose need is greater. “If we keep it for ourselves without sharing, we are depriving others of what is rightfully theirs,” he explained profoundly.

The evening culminated with Sri Madhusudan’s passionate call to turn the world into a “heaven” by spreading unconditional love, care and the spirit of selfless service. As he stated, “Let us transform this world into heaven, one good deed at a time.”

The audience, including esteemed philanthropists, businesspeople, and well-wishers from various nations, was visibly moved by the enlightening words. It was a celebration of humanity’s highest ideals – a reminder that our shared spiritual wisdom holds the key to creating a just, compassionate, and unified world.
