Sri Madhusudan Sai Shares Insights on Service, Spirituality, and Success
Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: Sri Madhusudan Sai recently shared his insights on various aspects of service, spirituality, and success with Sri Channegowda, Editor-in-Chief of VRL Media Ltd as part of the ‘An Evening Divine’ series. The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Sri CT Ravi, former Karnataka Tourism Minister and current BJP National General Secretary.
During the interview, Sri Madhusudan Sai spoke about his journey from being a bank employee to serving society through the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission. He stressed the importance of education and medical care, highlighting the success of the educational model, where graduates not only excel in their own fields but also return as teachers, fostering a culture of guru-śiṣya paramparā.
From Individual to Collective Success
In response to questions about fostering ethical leadership and promoting spiritual development, Sri Madhusudan Sai emphasised the importance of morality (dharma) over material wealth (dāna). He encouraged people to redefine their concept of success and focus on collective success rather than individual success.
When asked about how people can contribute to the mission, Sri Madhusudan Sai stressed the importance of using one’s talents and expertise to serve in any way possible. He encouraged people to contribute financially, whether a small amount or a significant sum. He shared on how, in a gesture of heartfelt appreciation, farmers generously contribute their crops as a token of gratitude for the medical care they have received in the hospital. Regarding the sustainability of the mission, Sri Madhusudan Sai attributed its success to God’s blessings and the support received from people worldwide.
Empowering Youth through Sports and Agriculture
The significance of sports development was also discussed, with a special mention of the esteemed Sunil Gavaskar, India’s cricket legend, who has been a great support in this area and has also been involved in building a state-of-the-art cricket stadium for rural students. Furthermore, Sri Madhusudan Sai shared that young people should be encouraged to pursue farming and agriculture as noble professions. To achieve this, the institute is offering courses in agriculture and striving to establish 800 farmers’ clusters across the state, aiming to empower these farmers by providing them with modern technologies, such as online selling and e-commerce, to ensure their self-reliance from crop cultivation to yield sales.
A Call to Revive sanātana dharma
When discussing India’s position as Vishwa Guru (World Teacher), Sri Madhusudan Sai emphasised the need for the country to reclaim its spiritual heritage. He stressed the importance of following sanātana dharma, which he believed was the key to restoring India’s role as a global teacher. In response to a question about how to preserve the timeless principles of sanātana dharma in times of conflict and chaos, he emphasised the importance of staying true to our duties and acting with integrity, even in the face of adversity. He urged everyone to remain steadfast in our commitment to dharma and stand firm against those who seek to undermine it.

How do you balance Seva (Service) and Spirituality in your institutions?
To me, Seva and Spirituality are intertwined – two sides of the same coin. At our institutions, we recognise God in every person and serve them without any discrimination. I firmly believe that God’s manifestation can be seen in acts of kindness, such as providing food for the hungry, medicine for the sick, and education for children. In essence, the expression of spirituality is through selfless service.
